SERMON SERIES: GOD’S PROVISIONAL CARE
TOPIC: THE SECRET OF SATISFACTION
MAIN TEXT: Psalm 23:1-6
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, 3 He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. - Psalm 23:1-6
“Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” - Psalm 100:3
“15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. 16 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. 17 They have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. 18 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.” - Psalm 135:15-18
“For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.” - Psalm 95:7
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” - Psalm 28:7
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” - Isaiah 40:11
When we have the Lord, our needs will be PROVIDED.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19
“I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.” - Psalm 37:25
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” - Matthew 6:26
When we have the Lord, we will be PROTECTED.
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” - Isaiah 41:10
“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you” - Deuteronomy 41:6
“The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore” - Psalm 121:7-8
When we have the Lord, we will be PRESERVED.
“For the Lord loves justice and does not forsake His godly ones; They are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.” - Psalm 37:28
“You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.” - Psalm 40:11
